What is ShowLove?
ShowLove is a platform that lets you receive voluntary donations from supporters. It is not a payment platform for goods/services.
Who can use ShowLove?
You must be 18+ (or 13+ with parental consent) and have a bank account. You’ll need a BVN/NIN for large withdrawals.
Account Setup
How do I sign up?
Provide your name, whatsapp number, and email.
Why do I need my BVN/NIN?
To comply with Nigerian anti-fraud laws (CBN regulations) and ensure secure withdrawals.
Can I use a pseudonym?
Yes, but your real name and BVN must match your bank account for withdrawals.
Donations & Payments
How do I receive donations?
Donations go directly to your ShowLove wallet, and withdrawals go to your linked Nigerian bank account. Processing takes 24 hours (depending on your bank).
What payment methods do donors use?
Donations can be made via bank transfer, debit cards, USSD, or mobile money (e.g., Opay, Paga).
Are donations refundable?
No. Donations are voluntary gifts unless required by law (e.g., court order for fraud).
Is there a withdrawal limit?
Not at this moment, no.

What fees does ShowLove charge?
The fee ShowLove charges depend on the medium people use to show you love:
- bank transfer 5%
- card 6.5%
- USSD 6%
- Mobile money 6%
- international transaction 9%
Do I pay taxes on donations?
Yes! Nigerian law (FIRS) requires declaring donations as income if you earn over ₦25,000,000/year. ShowLove may issue tax certificates.
Will ShowLove deduct taxes automatically?
No. You’re responsible for reporting taxes to FIRS/LIRS.
Security & Fraud
How does ShowLove protect my data?
- We encrypt data and comply with Nigeria’s NDPR
- We never store your BVN or card details.
What if my account is hacked?
Contact us immediately at support@showlove.ng. Enable 2FA for extra security.
What counts as fraud?
Scams, fake donation drives, or money laundering (e.g., “Yahoo Boys” activities). We’ll freeze accounts and report to EFCC.
Legal & Compliance
Can I use ShowLove for charity fundraising?
Only if you’re a registered NGO with proper documentation (e.g., CAC certificate).
What happens if I violate the terms?
We’ll suspend your account and may report illegal activity to authorities (e.g., EFCC, NCC).
How are disputes resolved?
Under Nigerian law, through courts in [Osun/Lagos/Abuja].

Is donating safe?
Yes! We use CBN-licensed payment gateways (e.g. PayStack, SafeHaven MFB, Flutterwave).
